The BEEMAR™ Platform – The Apex of Evolution

Long before man discovered fire and centuries before the first villages were built; the inherent bee survived many apocalyptic pathogens.

The honeybee is typically considered as the apex of insect evolution, and the hive has evolved intricate, versatile, and adaptable strategies to protect its most prized resource – the larvae.

Each day upwards on 70,000 drones forage over large distances to provide food for the hive, encountering a myriad and ever-changing array of bacteria, spores, parasites and viruses on the plants, foliage and waterbodies they encounter. Each retuning bee therefore, represents a potential hazard to the hive, which has, in response, evolved highly effective immune strategies to deal with this daily multitude of returning pathogens.

A Dynamic, Scalable and Repeatable Process

As the first company to have ever taken this inventive step cellNUA went a step further, developing a patented methodology of introducing (inoculating) a targeted threat to the hive, thus eliciting an immune response within a rapid 6-8 week timeframe.

It should be noted that in inoculating the hive, the spike proteins or the ‘outer coat of a pathogen, which is recognisable to the honeybee immune system is used, and therefore at no time presents a real threat to the hive or is ever in danger of replicating or spreading in the environment.

The COVID-19 pandemic revealed deep flaws in the world’s defences against pandemics, laying bare the vulnerabilities of our societies, economies and health care systems and made evident the need for strong and unified crisis preparedness. For decades the emergence of new epidemic-prone diseases, has caused global panic and alarm, followed by neglect and underinvestment in health emergency preparedness, and prevention.

While it is impossible to know the nature of the next pandemic threat, it is critical to global health security that improvements are made and solutions put in place in advance of the next outbreak. Equitable, end-end solutions based on innovative, safe and effective platforms are a priority for global security and safety.

A MODEL FOR Pandemic X
